Snugpak Torrent Insulated Waterproof Jacket
Snugpak Torrent Insulated Waterproof Jackets have been built to battle everything nature has to throw at it.
The outer shell is manufactured from Paratex Dry, a 100% polyamide close weave fabric that has a hydrophilic polyurethane inner coating to provide a hydrostatic head of 5000mm, making it fully waterproof and windproof. It’s comfort is enhanced with a high breathability rate, transmitting up to 7.5 litres of moisture per m2 per 24 hours, and a durable water repellent finish (DWR) to the outer face to prevent wetting out.
Insulation in these jackets utilises Snugpaks own Softie® polyester synthetic fill, providing all the benefits of down but retaining body heat even when wet and having greater loft recovery after compaction i.e. when stored in a stuff sack or backpack.
The inner layer of these Torrent jackets utilises a polyamide version of Snugpaks Paratex Light fabric, giving a softer handle but with superior robustness.
The design of these jackets has been cleverly thought out to enhance comfort without compromising on performance. All the outer stitching is tape seamed to prevent water ingress, with the two lined hand warmer pockets incorporating water resistant zips. A two way YKK water resistant front zip is backed up with a 25mm rear baffle, and a chin guard to prevent chafing. Underneath each armpit there is a 30cm aeration zip with a mesh backing and a protective outer baffle. The adjustable peaked hood can be removed to save weight via the rear hidden neck zip, and the wrist opening can be adjusted using the hook and loop tabs. On the inside left front panel there is a zipped security pocket, and a microfleece collar finish for extra comfort.
The unisex fit is generous on these jackets but not voluminous, allowing base layers and mid layers to be worn underneath. Two adjustor drawstrings on the inside hem allow you to tailor the fit around your waist, and a backdrop profile protects your rear when sitting down on unprotected surfaces.
