Guideline Antonio’s Emerger BWO Flies
Guideline Antonio’s Emerger BWO Flies are a split wing style emerger from Umpqua signature tier Antonio Rodrigues, this pattern uses a Hi-Vis spot to help anglers to see it in tough light conditions when using these small flies. This pattern is being successfully used in Europe and the USA for trout and grayling from pocket to slow water pools especially during hatches of BWO’s and is a good generic baetis imitation. A typical fly for flat water and picky fish!
We recommend using CDC friendly floatant like High’n Dry Liquid Floatant and Gel on the wings and thorax. Tiemco Dry Magic and CDC Gel/Oil are also great options. These are floatants you add before your first cast. After fishing, or if the fly gets soaked and sinks, then use an Amadou drier or rubber band to cast off water. Then revitalize the thorax and wing with a power brush.
