Wood Splits cut with Fiskars x17 Premium Axe
Our wood split packs are generally very large splits, and when using them in the Masterbuilt gravity series they maybe too large or you may want to mix wood flavours. Therefore, we recommend splitting the wood in half with the Fiskars x17 or x21.
These medium to large sized axes are perfect for this. We’ve tried larger axes by other brands and they are far less efficient than these compact size axes.
When using wood splits in an offset smoker, you can guarantee not all your wood splits will be the same. In offset cooking we need consistency when refuelling, using this medium sized axe you can split your wood down to the size you want.
Plus we always recommend splitting wood down and stacking to reduce the threat of mould, and aid with the drying process.
