The Chris King InSetTM 8 ZS44/EC44 Headset is designed to allow modern road and cross frames to accommodate large diameter headtubes and forks with tapered steerers, for improved front end stiffness and handling. So, if you’re running a 44mm straight headtube with a 1 1/8″ to 1 1/4″ tapered steerer tube, you need this.
The InSetTM 8 headset, with its external lower cup and the patented GripLock® system to hold it firmly in place and keep it functioning smoothly, is as with all Chris King headsets, equipped with the brand’s legendary bearings. These are machined simultaneously, for perfect matching, and get faster with age.
